Hello, my name is Sensei Abby Way. My journey with Arashi Do Martial Arts began when I was 10 years old, and my life has been changed ever since. The instructors and friends I have made along the way have shaped me into the person I am today, and I wouldn’t be the same without them. Values such as courage, respect, and a relentless spirit have been passed on to me and I work on ingraining the same principles into my own students. To not only build them up as martial artists, but as well-rounded people as well.
I achieved my Black Belt at the age of 16, and began teaching my own classes shortly after. Although my love for martial arts began with Karate, I have since expanded this passion to both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wrestling. I began Brazilian Jiu Jitsu around 2 years after starting Karate, and quickly fell in love with the sport. I am currently a blue belt and love practicing and developing on my skills. My wrestling journey began in grade 7 and continued all throughout both Junior high and high school.
My favourite part about martial arts is competition. I have had the privilege of competing in both local and provincial tournaments during my time with Arashi Do, as well as placing in both City and Provincial championships in wrestling also. In the future, I hope to continue participating in competitions and testing my skills.
My goal is to continue training and sharing my knowledge with others and help them grow in all aspects of their lives.
