The Arashi-Do Difference
At Arashi-Do, we want you and your family to get the most out of your martial arts experience. A structured curriculum, world class instructors and fully equipped training facilities will help you develop good martial arts skills and technical excellence. Our passion for martial arts is apparent in every class we teach.
Our History
It all started in 1985 with a company named Rocky Martial Arts School, located in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta and like all success stories we have grown from there. Soon the brand name was chosen and Arashi-Do Karate began. By 1988 our directors, Gary Vig and Mike Bonde began to develop the mission and direction for the growth of our martial arts schools. In 1992 our directors began to bring their passion for martial arts to communities in central Alberta with Chris Bonde joining the directors. Later Mike Yackulic joined the directors, a new umbrella name of Arashi-Do Martial Arts was born and the group continues to flourish and grow.
World-class Martial Arts Instruction
Our focus always has and always will be on providing world-class martial arts instruction from professional instructors. The directors of Arashi-Do Martial Arts have achieved ranking in Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai / Kickboxing, Judo and several other martial arts. Being accomplished martial artists they have also won numerous titles and championships over the years including; a Canadian Golden Gloves Kickboxing Title, a Western Canadian Modified Muay Thai Title, and a World Karate Title in the WKA Championships.
Progressive Learning Systems.
At Arashi-Do Martial Arts we believe in life-long learning, which is why our directors and instructors are constantly developing their working knowledge in the martial arts while applying this knowledge to our progressive learning systems. This means that our students are being trained with the latest and most up-to-date methods in the martial arts community.
Professional Instructors
All of our classes are taught by professional martial arts instructors who must complete a certification process to teach any of our major programs. Our instructors also must attend regular instructor training programs and are required to maintain First Aid and CPR Certification. Professional instruction in safe and fun classes is what we call part of the Arashi-Do difference.
Quality Martial Arts Instruction
Our professional mission to provide quality martial arts instruction is supported by our partnerships with numerous other martial arts organizations. These include the National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA), the World Ging Wu Martial Arts Association, Shoot-Wrestling Canada, Sylvio Behring of the Behring Jiu Jitsu System and the World Muay Thai Council of Bangkok, Thailand. Arashi-Do Martial Arts is proud to work with these martial arts groups from around the globe.
